Body Contouring
Morpheus8 Body in Brickell — Fractional RF Microneedling for Abdomen, Arms, Thighs, Knees and Buttocks
Morpheus8 Body is the deepest-reaching fractional radiofrequency microneedling treatment we offer for the body. Its 40-pin applicator delivers bipolar RF at programmed depths of up to 7 mm (with a thermal profile reaching about 8 mm), which is what allows it to address loose, crepey or uneven skin on the abdomen, upper arms, thighs, knees and buttocks in a short series. At No Filter Medical Spa it is performed by licensed providers under medical director oversight, with topical numbing and a few days of social downtime. Individual results vary.

Overview
What Morpheus8 Body is
Morpheus8 is InMode's fractional RF microneedling platform. The Body handpiece carries 40 gold-coated micro-pins that enter the skin and release radiofrequency energy at the tip, heating tissue at a chosen depth while the surface is largely spared. Morpheus8 Body is described by its maker as a "subdermal adipose remodeling device" (SARD): it treats not only the dermis but the fibrous and fat layer beneath it, which is where body laxity and uneven contour live.
Two delivery modes matter for the body:
- Burst mode delivers RF to multiple depths in a single pass ("three sequential treatment levels" in millisecond intervals), so one pass treats the superficial, mid and deep layers together.
- Burst Deep extends treatment to the full pin depth of up to 7 mm plus a 1 mm thermal profile for the thickest body skin and the most laxity.
Morpheus8 received an additional FDA 510(k) clearance in July 2024 for dermatologic skin procedures where coagulation/contraction of soft tissue is needed — the clearance language that underpins its use for laxity.
The Technology
How it works
Loose body skin has two problems: thinned, disorganized collagen in the dermis, and a slack fibrous network (the "fibro-septal network") that tethers skin to the fat beneath. Morpheus8 Body is designed to address both:
- Controlled heat at depth. Each micro-pin delivers RF at its tip, creating small columns of heated tissue at the programmed depth while the skin between columns stays intact. Heated collagen contracts immediately — the "tightening" you may notice in the first weeks.
- Remodeling response. The micro-injury and heat trigger the body's repair cascade: new collagen and elastin are laid down over 6–12 weeks, thickening and firming the skin.
- Fibrous-network reinforcement. InMode describes the Burst process as forming cross-links between collagen fibers across stratified depths, which is intended to strengthen the fibro-septal network and the overall skin-fat structure. In practice this reads as smoother, better-supported contour rather than simply thinner skin.
- Fractional and color-independent. Because the energy is delivered at the pin tips rather than across the surface, Morpheus8 is used across a wide range of skin tones with settings selected by your provider; published clinic experience reports a low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation when parameters are chosen appropriately.
Candidacy
Areas treated & who it's for
Areas treated
Abdomen (including postpartum and post-weight-loss laxity) · flanks · upper arms ("bat wings") · inner thighs · above the knees · buttocks and the fold beneath · back and bra line · stretch marks and crepey texture in any of these zones · décolleté (lighter settings)
Who it's for
- Mild to moderate skin laxity on the body, including after pregnancy or weight loss (GLP-1-assisted or otherwise)
- Crepey texture on the arms, knees or inner thighs
- Stretch marks and uneven surface
- People who want a stronger result than non-invasive RF but are not ready for, or do not need, surgery
- Patients maintaining or refining results after liposuction or a tummy tuck (once cleared by the surgeon)
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over active infection or inflammatory skin disease, with a history of keloid scarring (assessed individually), with certain implanted devices, or on skin treated with isotretinoin in the preceding months. Candidacy is confirmed at consultation.
Step by Step
The process
- Consultation — Laxity grading, photographs, review of history and medications, selection of tip, depths and mode.
- Prep (day of) — Area cleansed; topical numbing cream applied for 30–45 minutes. For larger or more sensitive areas, your provider may add additional comfort measures.
- Treatment (30–90 minutes depending on area count) — The applicator is stamped across the area in overlapping passes. Your provider typically works in two to three depth settings per session — deeper first, then more superficial — using Burst mode where enabled.
- Immediate aftercare — A soothing, occlusive balm is applied. You leave with written instructions.
- Series — Recommended 3–5 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart, with yearly maintenance. Your provider sets the number at consultation.
- Review — Photographs at 6 weeks after the final session and again at 3–6 months.
Your Visit
What to expect
Under numbing, most patients describe pressure and heat with brief sharper moments over bonier areas (knees, ribs). The area looks red and feels sunburned for 1–3 days; grid-like marks and mild swelling are normal and resolve over several days; the body often bruises more than the face. Early firmness may be noticeable in the first 2–3 weeks; the real change builds from 6 weeks on and continues for 3–6 months after the last session. Many patients see smoother, firmer, better-supported skin; the degree depends on starting laxity, age and adherence to the series. Individual results vary.
Recovery
Downtime & activity restrictions
- Redness, warmth and tenderness for 1–3 days; mild swelling and pinpoint crusting up to 5–7 days; bruising possible on the body
- Light walking is fine the same day; resume full workouts after 48–72 hours or when comfortable
Aftercare
Aftercare
- Keep the area clean; apply only the recommended balm for the first 48 hours
- No makeup, self-tanner, active skincare (retinoids, acids) or exfoliation on the area for 5–7 days
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, pools and intense sweating for 48–72 hours
- Loose clothing over treated areas; avoid friction
- Strict sun avoidance and daily SPF 30+ on exposed areas for at least 2 weeks
Results
Results timeline & longevity
- Weeks 1–3: early tightening from collagen contraction; texture may look slightly rougher as the skin renews
- Weeks 6–12: visible firming and smoothing as new collagen forms
- Months 3–6 after final session: peak result
- Longevity: published clinic experience suggests results are commonly maintained for 1–3 years, with yearly maintenance recommended. Age, weight stability and sun exposure matter. Individual results vary.
Options
How it compares & what it combines with
- Versus SyneraLift: Morpheus8 Body reaches deeper and needs fewer sessions, with a few days of downtime; SyneraLift is non-invasive and often used as a primer or maintenance between sessions.
- Versus Quantum RF: Quantum RF is a single minimally invasive session delivered beneath the skin for moderate laxity; Morpheus8 Body is a surface-entry series that excels at texture and mild-to-moderate laxity. Many providers use Quantum RF first on the heaviest zone, then Morpheus8 Body to refine texture.
- With Sculptra: Sculptra builds collagen from within on areas such as the buttocks, arms and knees; sequencing both can extend skin-quality gains.
- With Pulsar+: Pulsar+ handles circumference; Morpheus8 Body handles the skin over it.

Pins reach up to 7 mm with a thermal profile of about 8 mm — deeper than facial microneedling, which is why it is suitable for thick body skin.

Recommended 3–5 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart, with yearly maintenance. Your provider will specify your plan.
Topical numbing is applied for 30–45 minutes. Most patients describe heat and pressure; bony areas are more sensitive.
