Body Contouring
Pulsar+ Body Contouring in Brickell — Light-Based, Non-Invasive Circumference Refinement
Pulsar+ is a non-invasive, light-based body contouring treatment that uses four wavelengths of low-level laser energy over areas such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs and arms. It does not heat, freeze or cut; it is designed to prompt fat cells to release stored lipids so the body can process them, which is why we pair it with movement and lymphatic support. At No Filter Medical Spa, Pulsar+ is planned as a series within a provider-designed body plan. Individual results vary.

Overview
What Pulsar+ is
Pulsar+ is a multi-wavelength photonic body contouring platform that emits light at 635, 650, 808 and 980 nm through paddles or panels positioned over the treatment area. The shorter red wavelengths (635/650 nm) are the ones studied most for circumference reduction; the near-infrared wavelengths (808/980 nm) penetrate deeper and are associated in the literature with circulation and tissue-response effects. There is no sensation of heat during treatment, and sessions are short.
The Technology
How it works
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) for body contouring is based on a proposed mechanism from published work on 635 nm light: light energy is absorbed by an enzyme in the fat cell's energy machinery (cytochrome c oxidase), which sets off a chain of signals inside the cell. That cascade is believed to create temporary pores in the fat-cell membrane, through which stored triglycerides can leak into the surrounding space and be picked up and metabolized by the body. The fat cells themselves are not destroyed; they are, in effect, temporarily "deflated." This is why:
- A series is needed — the effect is cumulative, not one-time.
- Movement and lymphatic support after each session matter — released lipids need to be processed.
- The treatment is positioned for circumference and contour refinement, not for weight loss and not as a substitute for fat-reduction surgery.
Published studies on 635 nm LLLT reported reductions in circumference at the waist, hips, thighs and upper arms with no adverse events; researchers note that optimal protocols are still being defined, which is why our providers follow a conservative, structured series.
Candidacy
Areas treated & who it's for
Areas treated
Abdomen · flanks and waist · hips · inner and outer thighs · upper arms · bra line and back · above the knees
Who it's for
- Adults at or near a stable weight with a specific area of soft fullness that resists diet and exercise
- People who want a no-needle, no-heat, no-downtime option
- Patients already on a wellness or fitness routine who want a supportive contouring step
- As a circumference layer paired with SyneraLift (firmness) in a combined plan
Not a treatment for obesity or generalized weight loss. Not used during pregnancy, over active skin disease, or with certain photosensitizing medications or conditions. Candidacy is confirmed at consultation.
Step by Step
The process
- Consultation and measurement — Baseline circumference measurements and photographs so change is tracked objectively.
- Positioning — You lie comfortably; the light paddles or panels are placed directly over the target zone. Eye protection is worn.
- Treatment (typically 20–30 minutes) — The device cycles through its wavelengths. There is no heat and no discomfort; most patients read or rest.
- Lymphatic support (10–15 minutes) — Your provider may add a vibration-plate, lymphatic massage or SyneraLift TITAN step to encourage the body to process released lipids.
- Post-session — Hydrate and move: a brisk walk or light workout the same day is encouraged.
- Series — 2–3 sessions per week for 3–4 weeks (6–12 sessions), measured at the midpoint and the end.
Your Visit
What to expect
The session itself is uneventful — no heat, no pulling, no needles. The results come from consistency: following the schedule, staying hydrated, keeping a stable diet and moving after sessions. Many patients see measurable circumference change over the series; the degree varies with starting point, adherence and lifestyle. Individual results vary.
Recovery
Downtime & activity restrictions
- No downtime; resume all activity immediately
Aftercare
Aftercare
- Drink at least 2 liters of water on treatment days
- Light to moderate exercise within a few hours of each session is encouraged
- Avoid alcohol and heavy, high-fat meals on treatment days where possible
- Keep weight stable; results are easier to maintain at a steady weight
- Report any skin sensitivity (rare) to your provider
Results
Results timeline & longevity
- Week 1–2: subtle softening of the area; early measurement changes in some patients
- Week 3–4: circumference changes become more apparent with adherence to the series
- 2–4 weeks after the series: measurements are taken again; many patients see their best result here
- Longevity: because fat cells are not destroyed, maintenance depends on lifestyle. Results are typically maintained with a stable weight and periodic touch-up sessions. Individual results vary.
Options
How it compares & what it combines with
- Versus heat- or cold-based fat reduction: Pulsar+ is gentler, has no downtime, and works through a release-and-metabolize mechanism rather than destroying fat cells. It suits patients who want a low-commitment series, not a single high-intensity session.
- Versus SyneraLift: different jobs. Pulsar+ addresses fullness and circumference; SyneraLift addresses firmness and texture. They are frequently combined in the same visit.
- With Morpheus8 Body: Pulsar+ can refine contour while Morpheus8 Body addresses laxity and texture; sessions are sequenced so the skin is never over-treated.
- With wellness services: hydration and IV therapy may support a series; discuss with your provider.

No. It is low-level laser light with no heat. It is designed to prompt fat cells to release stored lipids so the body can process them.
No sensation of heat or pain is expected. Most patients find sessions relaxing.
Typically a series of 6–12 sessions over 3–4 weeks, set by your provider.
Pulsar+ is a contouring treatment, not a weight-loss treatment. The goal is circumference and shape refinement in a targeted area.
Movement and lymphatic flow help the body process released lipids, which is part of how this category of treatment is designed to work.
Fat cells are not destroyed, so maintaining a stable weight is important. Many patients maintain results with lifestyle and periodic touch-ups. Individual results vary.
Yes — most often with SyneraLift for firmness, or sequenced with Morpheus8 Body.
Published LLLT body-contouring studies reported no adverse events. Your provider screens for photosensitivity and other contraindications at consultation.
After a consultation and baseline measurements, usually within the same week.
