Liquid Labiaplasty in Miami: Labia Majora Filler

The outer labia (labia majora) lose fat and collagen with age, hormonal change, childbirth and weight loss, which can leave them flatter, looser or less symmetrical, and sometimes uncomfortable with friction or tight clothing. Liquid labiaplasty at No Filter Medical Spa uses hyaluronic acid filler, placed by a licensed master injector, to restore volume and smooth contour without surgery. It is a short in-office treatment with minimal downtime; results are temporary and individual results vary.

Overview

What Liquid Labiaplasty is

A non-surgical augmentation of the labia majora using a soft, cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. The gel is layered beneath the skin of each outer labium to restore fullness, improve symmetry, and help the outer labia better cover the inner labia (labia minora) when that is a goal. It is sometimes called "labia puffing" or "labial puff." Hyaluronic acid fillers are FDA-approved for facial indications; use in the labia is off-label, and we say so at consultation and in consent.

It is not a surgical labiaplasty (which reduces or reshapes the labia minora) and it does not treat the vaginal canal; see Vaginal Tightening for internal laxity and the Pink B12 Booster for surface hydration and tone.

Candidacy

Areas treated & who it's for

Good candidates typically:

  • Notice deflation, sagging, wrinkling or asymmetry of the outer labia after pregnancy, with menopause, after weight loss, or with age.
  • Experience chafing, irritation or discomfort from thinning labial skin with exercise, cycling or clothing.
  • Want a subtle, natural restoration rather than a dramatic change.
  • Are in good general health, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and have realistic expectations.

Not a fit or needs clearance first:

  • Active vulvar or vaginal infection, herpes outbreak, dermatitis or open skin.
  • Known allergy to HA filler components or lidocaine.
  • Bleeding disorders or anticoagulants that cannot be paused.
  • History of granulomatous reactions to fillers or prior permanent filler in the area.
  • Primary concern is the inner labia, the vaginal canal, or pain, which call for gynecologic evaluation.

Step by Step

The process

  1. Private consultation — Goals, history, medications. An exam confirms where volume is lost and whether one or both sides need more. You receive a plan and quote.
  2. Preparation — Pause blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil for 48 hours with your prescriber's approval; avoid alcohol for 24 hours; arrive without lotions or powders in the area.
  3. Numbing — Topical anesthetic is applied to the outer labia and given time to work; a small local anesthetic injection may be added.
  4. Filler placement — Through one or two small entry points per side, the injector uses a blunt microcannula (or fine needle at provider discretion) to thread HA into the subcutaneous fat layer of each labium in linear and fanning passes, then gently molds it for a smooth, even contour. Typical volumes published in technique papers are around 1–2 mL per side, with total volumes of roughly 2–4 mL; your amount depends on anatomy and goals.
  5. Check and finish — Symmetry is assessed while you are standing and lying down. Treatment time is about 20–30 minutes; plan 45 minutes for the appointment.
  6. Follow-up — At 2–4 weeks, to assess settling and add a small touch-up if needed (some technique studies include a planned one-month touch-up averaging about 0.5 mL per side).

Your Visit

What to expect

  • During: pressure and a mild stinging as the cannula passes; most patients describe discomfort as mild.
  • Immediately after: the labia look fuller than the final result because of swelling and anesthetic. Mild swelling, tenderness and occasional bruising are expected for 2–7 days.
  • Days 3–14: swelling settles; filler softens and integrates. Final contour is visible at about 2 weeks.

Recovery

Downtime & activity restrictions

  • Return to work: same day or next day.
  • Exercise: avoid strenuous, friction-heavy activity (cycling, spin, running, heavy lifting) for 48–72 hours; some clinics advise longer.
  • Pools, hot tubs, baths, saunas: avoid for 48 hours to 1 week.
  • Tight clothing, thongs, shapewear: avoid for 3–5 days.
  • Sexual activity: published clinic guidance ranges from 48 hours (UK and several US clinics) to 1–2 weeks (common US guidance), with a few practices advising longer. Plan for 48 hours to 2 weeks; your provider confirms your window based on volume and your anatomy.
  • Waxing or laser hair removal in the area: wait 2 weeks after treatment.

Aftercare

Aftercare

  • Keep the area clean and dry; shower, do not soak, for 48 hours.
  • Cotton underwear and loose clothing for a few days.
  • A cool compress (never ice directly on skin) for 10 minutes at a time on day one helps swelling.
  • Do not massage or press the area unless your provider instructs you to.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and NSAIDs for 48 hours unless advised; acetaminophen is usually fine.
  • Sleep on your back the first night if possible.
  • Call us for significant swelling on one side, worsening pain after day 2, spreading redness, fever, skin color change, or a firm lump that does not soften.
  • Keep your follow-up; a small touch-up is a normal part of achieving symmetry.

Results

Results timeline & longevity

  • Volume is visible immediately and refines over 1–2 weeks as swelling resolves.
  • Many patients report a smoother, fuller contour, improved symmetry, and less chafing or irritation. Some report improved comfort during intercourse as the outer labia better cushion the area.
  • HA filler in the labia majora typically lasts about 6–12 months, with some clinics reporting up to 12–18 months depending on product, volume and metabolism. Maintenance every 9–12 months is common. Long-term data for this off-label use remain limited.
  • HA is reversible with hyaluronidase if needed.
  • Individual results vary.

Safety

Risks & safety

  • Common and short-lived: swelling, tenderness, bruising, redness, itching, temporary asymmetry while swelling resolves.
  • Less common: palpable lumps or unevenness (often improved with massage or hyaluronidase), prolonged swelling, infection, delayed inflammatory reaction or nodule.
  • Rare: vascular compromise if filler enters a vessel; the cannula technique and anatomy knowledge reduce this risk.
  • Off-label disclosure: HA fillers are approved for facial use; labial use is off-label.
  • This is a cosmetic treatment; vulvar pain, lesions or skin changes should be evaluated by a gynecologist before any filler.

Liquid labiaplasty adds volume to the outer labia with filler and takes about 30 minutes with minimal downtime. Surgical labiaplasty reshapes or reduces the inner labia under anesthesia with weeks of recovery. They address different concerns.

Topical numbing is applied first, and a local anesthetic may be added. Most patients describe mild pressure or a brief sting.

Published technique papers describe roughly 1–2 mL per side. Your provider will estimate at consultation; a planned small touch-up at 2–4 weeks is common.

Clinics publish windows from 48 hours to 2 weeks. We will give you a specific window; most patients plan for about a week.

Typically 6–12 months, sometimes longer. Many patients schedule maintenance every 9–12 months.

HA is a soft gel that integrates with tissue; once swelling settles, most patients and partners cannot distinguish treated tissue by touch. Early firmness softens over 2 weeks.

Many patients with thinning labial skin report less friction-related discomfort once volume is restored. This is a commonly reported benefit, not a guarantee.

Yes. HA filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the result or in the rare event of a complication.

Yes, typically on separate dates. Your provider will sequence treatments so each can heal properly.
