Laser Genesis in Miami: The No-Downtime Laser Facial

Laser Genesis by Cutera — 1064 nm Nd:YAG micro-pulsed laser

Laser Genesis is the laser you can have at lunch and forget by dinner. Thousands of gentle micro-pulses of 1064 nm light warm the upper dermis without breaking the surface — shrinking the tiny vessels that cause diffuse redness, waking up collagen, and leaving skin smoother, tighter-looking and visibly brighter. No numbing, no flaking, no restrictions, and safe for every skin tone including tanned skin. It is our most-booked maintenance laser and the easiest first laser anyone can try. Individual results vary.

Laser Genesis

Why people choose it

Chosen for your skin

  • Zero downtime, no exceptions

walk out pink and warm, wear makeup, go to dinner.

  • Redness finally handled

the laser dermatologists use for rosacea flushing and post-acne redness without the bruising of vascular lasers.

  • Every skin tone, even tanned

1064 nm barely interacts with pigment, so Miami's sun and diversity are not a problem.

  • Cumulative collagen

studies show new collagen in the upper dermis after a series; pores look smaller and texture smoother with each visit.

What it treats

The concerns we start with

The technology

The right energy, precisely placed

Laser Genesis delivers a 1064 nm Nd:YAG beam in rapid micro-pulses that the provider "paints" across the skin in overlapping passes. Because 1064 nm is weakly absorbed by melanin and penetrates past the epidermis, the energy accumulates as gentle, diffuse heat in the papillary dermis — around 40 °C — rather than at the surface. That warmth collapses the fine superficial vessels responsible for redness and signals fibroblasts to produce new collagen. Nothing is ablated, so there is nothing to heal.

Cutera's 1064 nm platform is FDA-cleared for benign vascular lesions including rosacea and diffuse redness, periocular and perioral wrinkles, scars and mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne, in all skin types I–VI.

Vascular concerns

Cherry angiomas and vascular lesions

Our menu includes a cherry angioma removal consultation. A provider reviews the lesion and confirms the appropriate treatment and pricing; this is not a diagnosis or a promise that Laser Genesis is suitable.

Who it's for

A good fit starts with an assessment

Good for

  • Rosacea-prone, sensitive or reactive skin that cannot tolerate aggressive treatments.
  • Anyone wanting better texture, pores and glow with no downtime.
  • Deeper or tanned skin tones that are poor IPL candidates.
  • Maintenance between CoolPeel, Morpheus8 or CO2 sessions.

Not for

  • Discrete dark sun spots (Lumecca or Pico do that better) or deep wrinkles and scars (CO2 or Morpheus8).
  • Pregnancy; active skin cancer treatment; open wounds or infection in the area.
  • Isotretinoin within 6 months and photosensitizing medications (case by case).

Your treatment plan

A plan, not a one-size-fits-all session

  1. 01

    Your series

4–6 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart; redness and texture improvements usually visible by session 3–4.

  2. 02

    Comfort

20–30 minutes; no numbing or gel; eye shields.

  3. 03

    Maintenance

Maintenance every 1–3 months for rosacea, every 3–6 months for texture and glow.

  4. 04

    Pairings

same-visit Botox or filler; two weeks after Lumecca for residual redness; between CoolPeel series.

What to expect

Before, during and after

before

  • No tanning or self-tanner for 2 weeks; arrive without makeup; pause retinoids a few days before.

during

  • A gentle, spreading warmth — most patients describe it as relaxing; occasional brief stinging. 20–30 minutes.

after

  • Pink and warm for 15–60 minutes, then nothing. Makeup immediately; drive yourself home.

Downtime & healing

Your recovery, day by day

  1. Hour 0–1

    Warm, pink glow.

  2. Day 1

    Fresh, plumper-looking skin.

  3. Week 2–4

Next session; redness and texture improving.

  4. Session 3–4

Rosacea flushing and pores visibly calmer.

  5. Month 3

Collagen gains from the series settle in.

Aftercare

Care that carries the result

  • Avoid hot showers, saunas and intense workouts for 24–48 hours.
  • Daily SPF; gentle products; hold retinoids and acids for 2–3 days.
  • Nothing else — no ointments, no peeling, no restrictions.

Results

Change, on your timeline

  • A glow after the first session; measurable reduction in redness and pore size by the third or fourth; collagen improvements settle over 3 months.
  • Results are maintained with periodic sessions; rosacea patients typically return every 1–3 months.
  • Individual results vary.

Risks & safety

An honest conversation first

  • Expected: transient redness and warmth.
  • Possible: brief swelling, rare pinpoint bruising.
  • Uncommon: burns or pigment change from over-treatment or treating tanned skin at high settings; temporary effects on fine facial hair — all minimized by provider technique.

Why No Filter

Over-qualified for this. On purpose.

  • Licensed medical providers only

Every laser and energy treatment here is performed by a licensed medical provider, trained and certified on the specific platform, never by an unsupervised technician.

  • Medical director oversight

Dr. Vania Fernandez oversees protocols, settings and candidacy for every device on this page.

  • Settings built for Miami skin

Sun exposure and a wide range of skin tones are the rule here, not the exception; we choose the wavelength and energy for your skin, and we will say no when a device is not right for you.

  • Consultation first, always

A face-to-face assessment, a written plan and clear pricing before any energy touches your skin.

FAQs

Your questions, answered

Gentle, spreading warmth, like sun on your face — most patients find it relaxing. No numbing is needed.

Yes. The 1064 nm wavelength barely interacts with pigment, so Laser Genesis is cleared for all skin types, including tanned skin, and is our go-to laser facial for deeper skin tones.

A glow after one; most patients see rosacea flushing and background redness calmer by the third or fourth session, two to four weeks apart.

Yes — it is the safest laser to have days before a wedding or shoot. You leave pink for an hour and glowing the next day.

It softens red scars, refines pore appearance and smooths texture over a series; deeper atrophic scars need Morpheus8 or CO2.

IPL targets discrete brown spots and visible vessels and makes them flake away; Laser Genesis targets diffuse redness, texture and collagen with no flaking and works on every skin tone. Many patients do both.

Yes — it pairs beautifully with the No Filter Facial or HydraFacial in the same visit, same-day injectables are fine, and it is a perfect maintenance treatment between Morpheus8 or CoolPeel sessions.

Every one to three months for rosacea control; every three to six months for texture and glow.
