Microneedling with PRP in Brickell, Miami — Your Own Growth Factors, Exactly Where Your Skin Needs Them

Your blood already carries the most sophisticated repair kit your skin will ever have access to: platelets, loaded with the growth factors that orchestrate healing. Microneedling with PRP simply concentrates that kit and delivers it where it can do the most. A small sample of your blood is drawn, spun to isolate the platelet-rich plasma, and infused through the thousands of microchannels created by medical microneedling — so the signal to rebuild collagen is amplified by the very molecules your body uses to do it. It is the treatment behind the "vampire facial" headlines, performed quietly and precisely at No Filter Medical Spa by licensed providers under medical director oversight. Sixty minutes, confirmed at consultation. Individual results vary.

Overview

What Microneedling + PRP is

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is the fraction of your own blood that contains platelets at several times their normal concentration. Platelets are best known for clotting, but their real talent is signaling: when activated they release a cascade of growth factors — PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, EGF and IGF-1 among them — that recruit repair cells, stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin, and encourage new microcirculation. PRP has been used for decades in orthopedics, dentistry and wound care for exactly this reason.

Microneedling with PRP combines two proven stimuli. The pen creates a precise field of microchannels at a provider-set depth, which on its own triggers collagen induction. Applying PRP through those channels — and, where appropriate, placing small amounts just beneath the surface in areas such as acne scars or the under-eye — delivers a concentrated dose of your own growth factors to the layer where remodeling happens.

A few facts worth knowing

  • PRP is 100% autologous: nothing foreign, nothing synthetic, no risk of allergy to the product itself.
  • The plasma is prepared from a single small draw — about the volume of a standard lab test — and used within minutes.
  • Platelet concentration in properly prepared PRP is typically four to six times that of whole blood, which is why it performs differently from the "growth factors" in a jar of cream.
  • Because PRP speeds healing, many patients find recovery from microneedling is shorter and calmer with it than without.

The Technology

How it works

  1. Harvest. A small blood sample is drawn in the treatment room while your numbing cream takes effect.
  2. Concentrate. The sample is spun in a centrifuge for several minutes, separating the golden platelet-rich plasma from red cells.
  3. Open the channels. The pen creates microchannels at a depth mapped zone by zone — shallower on the forehead and under the eyes, deeper over scarring.
  4. Infuse. PRP is applied across the skin and worked through the channels while they are open; the skin absorbs it rapidly in this window. Targeted micro-deposits may be placed in scars or crepey under-eye skin.
  5. Signal and rebuild. Over the following weeks the growth factors drive fibroblast activity, new collagen and elastin formation and improved microcirculation. Texture smooths, scars soften, tone brightens and the skin looks more "alive."

Candidacy

Who it's for

  • Acne scarring — rolling and boxcar scars respond especially well to PRP-assisted microneedling
  • Dull, tired or "burnt-out" skin that needs a reset rather than a surface glow
  • Fine lines, early laxity and crepey texture around the eyes and mouth
  • Patients who want the most natural regenerative option — nothing but their own biology
  • Anyone who wants microneedling with a faster, calmer recovery
  • Men and women of all skin tones; PRP adds no pigment or heat risk

Not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection, cold sores or inflammatory skin disease in the area, with platelet or clotting disorders, certain anticoagulants or anemia, within six months of isotretinoin, or with a history of keloids. Smoking and heavy alcohol use reduce platelet quality; we will tell you honestly if timing should change.

Step by Step

The process

  1. Consultation — Skin assessment under magnification, photographs, medical and medication history, and mapping of depth and target zones. Written plan and consent.
  2. Prep (one week before) — Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids and self-tanner; avoid NSAIDs, aspirin and fish-oil supplements for a few days (unless prescribed) so platelets are at their best; hydrate well and eat before your visit.
  3. Numbing and draw (20–25 minutes) — Topical anesthetic is applied; your blood is drawn and spun while you numb.
  4. Treatment (25–30 minutes) — Cleanse and prep; microneedling pass by pass with PRP infused through the open channels; targeted deposits where planned.
  5. Finish — The remaining PRP is left on the skin as a mask; a barrier cream and recovery instructions follow. No LED or actives over fresh PRP.
  6. Series — Three to four sessions four to six weeks apart for texture and lines; four to six for scarring; then maintenance one to two times a year.

Your Visit

What to expect

With numbing, the treatment feels like a warm, buzzing pressure — brief sharpness on the forehead and around the mouth, not pain. The blood draw is the same as any lab test. You leave pink with a faint golden sheen of plasma on the skin, which you keep on for several hours. Redness fades over 24–48 hours (often faster than with microneedling alone); the skin feels tight and may lightly flake on days two to four. A fresher, brighter look appears within the first week, and the structural changes — softer scars, finer texture, smoother lines — build over four to six weeks and with each session. Individual results vary.

Recovery

Downtime & activity restrictions

  • Pink to red for 24–48 hours; mild swelling, especially under the eyes, on day one; light flaking days two to four

Aftercare

Aftercare

  • Leave the PRP on the skin for at least six hours — no washing, make-up or touching; sleep on a clean pillowcase
  • From the next morning: gentle cleanser, the recovery moisturizer provided and mineral SPF 30+, reapplied through the day
  • No actives (retinoids, acids, vitamin C) for five to seven days; no make-up for 24–48 hours
  • Avoid heavy exercise, saunas, pools, hot showers on the face and direct sun for 48 hours
  • No other facial treatments, waxing or self-tanner for one week
  • Most patients are back at work the next day and comfortable in make-up on day two or three

Results

Results timeline & longevity

Brighter, smoother skin within a week; visible improvement in texture, pores and fine lines four to six weeks after each session; progressive softening of acne scars across a series. Collagen built with PRP is your own and durable, maintained with one to two sessions a year and daily SPF. Individual results vary.

Safety

Risks & safety

Redness, swelling, dryness, pinpoint bleeding during treatment and occasional bruising at the draw site or where micro-deposits are placed. Temporary acne flares and, rarely, post-inflammatory darkening if sun is not avoided. Infection and scarring are very rare with sterile, single-use cartridges and closed-system PRP preparation. Because PRP is your own, allergic reaction to the plasma itself does not occur.

Options

How it compares & what it combines with

  • PRP vs. PDGF: PRP is your own full spectrum of growth factors; PDGF is a single purified, standardized growth factor with hyaluronic acid and no blood draw. Choose PRP for scars and the most natural approach; PDGF for consistency and a needle-free prep.
  • PRP vs. Salmon DNA (PDRN): PDRN is a polynucleotide that excels at hydration, barrier repair and calming; PRP is stronger for scar remodeling. Dry, reactive skin leans PDRN; scarred or dull skin leans PRP.
  • PRP vs. exosomes: exosomes deliver a high concentration of signaling vesicles for faster recovery and glow; PRP is autologous and better studied for scars. Some patients alternate them across a series.
  • PRP alone vs. microneedling with PRP: PRP applied to intact skin stays on the surface; microneedling is what gets it to the layer where collagen is made.

Why No Filter

Care built around you

PRP is only as good as its preparation and its placement. At No Filter your plasma is drawn and processed on site in a closed, sterile system minutes before it touches your skin — never pre-drawn, never left to sit. A licensed provider maps needle depth by zone and places PRP where it does the most, including targeted deposits in scars and under the eyes when appropriate. Medical director oversight means the medication and health review is real, not a checkbox. And if your concern would respond better to PDGF, PDRN or exosomes, we will say so — the four options exist so you get the right one, not the most expensive one.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Pricing: Pricing confirmed at consultation

Yes — that is the nickname for microneedling with PRP. The treatment is calm, clinical and far less dramatic than the name.

It is identical to a routine lab test — a few seconds, one small vial.

With medical-strength numbing most patients feel warmth and vibration with brief sharper moments on bony areas. It is well tolerated.

Plan on 24–48 hours of pinkness, often shorter than microneedling alone because PRP accelerates healing. Most people are back at work the next day.

Three to four for texture, lines and glow; four to six for acne scarring, spaced four to six weeks apart, then one to two maintenance sessions a year.

A fresher look within a week; real changes in texture, scars and lines over four to six weeks, building with each session.

PRP is your own plasma, so there is no risk of allergy or rejection to the product. Risks relate to the microneedling itself and are minimized by sterile technique and licensed providers.

Yes — alternated with chemical peels, maintained with HydraFacial, and sequenced with injectables on separate visits. Your provider plans the order.

It can improve thin, crepey under-eye skin and the dullness that deepens circles. Hollowing from volume loss is addressed differently; we will tell you which you have.

NSAIDs, aspirin, fish oil and alcohol for a few days (unless prescribed), retinoids and acids for a week, and sun exposure. Eat and hydrate before you come.
